Previous Demonstration

An image map that uses my very small javascript routine to monitor the mouse clicks. The layout and popup information box is all produced using CSS.

All browsers except IE5.x and IE6 will also have a hover state which highlights the planet, sun or moon.

If IE5.x and IE6 understood combined classes such as 'li.sun.hover' then they too would have had highlighted hover states.

Clicking on any of the 'objects' in the solar map will reveal a pop-up information box with links to further reading. Clicking another 'object' will pop-down the previous information box and reveal the new one. Re-clicking the same 'object' will close that objects information box.

Tested in IE5.5, IE6, IE7, Firefox, Opera, Netscape, Mozilla, Safari (PC) and Safari (iPod Touch).
